MES Cairo was transformed into a hub of Arabic culture, costume and cuisine for
‘Youm EL Amanie Day’ (Translation: A Day of Hope) on the 10th of October 2016.
Students and staff dressed in clothing reflecting Arabic traditions. Learning
throughout the day incorporated Arabic themes. All students had the opportunity
to enjoy a traditional tanoura performance and buy local delicacies from the
stalls in the food market we created on the school field. A carnival atmosphere
prevailed with this whole school event and much fun was had by all.
The videos and photos see here show the colour and celebratory atmosphere of the
day. Enjoy our video compilation of staff and students singing along to a
reknown Egyptian melody and a member of our Arabic staff leading his Department
in an impromptu folk song.
